Posted: 09/05/18 End Date: 09/19/18 Job Description: Under the supervision of the Director of Human Resources, this position provides administrative, technical and clerical support in all aspects of Human Resource operations, employment and risk management. Performs other related work as required.
Essential Job Duties: Performs routine customer service tasks; answers inquiries from the public. Assists in posting job announcements and receives/processes applications. Verifies employment information; receives distributes incoming mail; prepares outgoing mail. Enters and maintains employee data into computerized HRIS system; processes all personnel action sheet information; enters employee payroll deductions; maintains accrual rates of employees. Creates and maintains filing for Human Resource Department. Coordinates worker’s compensation activities; files worker’s compensation, vehicle accidents, and general liability claims; obtains first reports of accident/injury; processes claims and follows-up on status of each accident/incident; maintains files and records. Assist Director with property liability claims. Coordinates the City’s Alcohol/Drug Testing Program in compliance with established policies. Compiles and/or tracks various administrative and/or statistical data; performs research as needed. Performs other job related duties as required.
Minimum Requirements of Position Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Risk Management, Business Administration, or a closely related field; supplemented by two (2) years’ experience in risk management, insurance, human resources management, or related field preferred; or Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must be able to successfully pass criminal background check. Bilingual (Spanish speaking) applicant is a plus.
